Tucked away on a secluded stretch of river is our private trophy trout section. This section is stocked regularly and is home to some very large Brown and Rainbow Trout. This section has lived up to its hype with clients of all ages and skill levels landing fish of a lifetime.
No equipment is required to book a trip with Roots Outdoor.
All waders, boots, rods, reels, etc. will be provided and can be selected in the booking menu when selecting the date for your party or through a Phone call or Email with our Guide Service after booking. We will also be providing premium home-tied flies by our licensed guides for your personal use and to fill up your box afterward.
If you are going on a summer trip we highly recommend wearing UPF sun protective and water-friendly clothing. We also highly recommend bringing a good pair of polarized sunglasses. If you are going on a fall or winter guide with us please remember to bring cold weather clothing including an insulated jacket and warm socks.
Important Information To Know About The Day Of Your Trip
Unless otherwise specified by us or your guide. You will meet your guide at Roots Outdoor NC in downtown Statesville, NC the day of your trip at your booked time. We have allowed for 1 hour of transit on the front and back ends of your booked time. Once you arrive at Roots our experienced staff will have boots and waders waiting for you based on the selection you made during your booking process. After quickly ensuring you have the correct fitting equipment for the day (and snagging a complimentary Coffee on us) you will load up and head out with your guide. Transportation is not provided unless otherwise offered by your guide.

*Trip rates do not include guide gratuity. Our guides greatly appreciate gratuity and do their absolute best to make your trip one to remember. If you have any questions about guide tipping please let us know.
Cancellations made 7 days or more prior to the scheduled trip date will receive a full refund on their booking.
Any trip canceled within the 7-day period of the scheduled trip date will forfeit the full deposited amount. Once booked if you have a member of your party back out before the 7-day period prior to your trip, please let us know and their per person fee will be refunded back in the original form of payment. If they back out within the 7-day period before your trip it will be considered a cancellation and no refund will be issued on the trip cost.
Weather cancelations are up to the guide. Rain is not considered a reason for cancellation or rescheduling unless otherwise specified by our guides. Some reasons our guides will choose to cancel or reschedule will be because of unsafe water levels, strong currents, lighting, or thunder. A chance of rain does not dictate a cancellation or refund. All have our guides are accustomed to fishing through rain storms with great success all while gauging the safety of water flow and weather.

Fishing and boating are potentially dangerous activities. All Water Guides adhere to the highest safety and training standards but there are inherent risks that we can not control and can not be eliminated. You must be aware of these risks before you take a trip with us.
THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A WAIVER OF CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS by booking this trip and checking out on www.rootsoutdoornc.com
I, the undersigned, in consideration of the service of Roots Outdoor NC, its officers, employees, contractors, agents, or representatives, hereby agree to release and hold harmless All Water Guides on behalf of myself, my heirs assign, personal representative, and estate as follows: I understand and acknowledge that the activity I am about to voluntarily engage in as a participant bears certain known risks and unanticipated risks which could result in injury, death, illness or disease, physical or mental damage, or damage to myself, to my property, or to spectators or other third parties.
The following describes some, but not all of those risks. Risks include, but are not limited to: death, drowning, bodily injury, sunburn, dehydration, insect or animal bites, encounters with wildlife, and other harm which may be encountered in participating in wading, boating, guided, and unguided fishing, and those activities associated therewith. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all responsibilities and risk of injury, death, illness or disease, or damage to myself, to others, or to my property, arising from my participation in this activity. By booking my trip I agree to and acknowledge this document and fully recognize that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged while I engage in this event, I will have no right to make claim or file a lawsuit against Roots Outdoor NC or its officers, agents, contractors, or employees.
PHYSICAL HEALTH: To the best of my knowledge I, the client, have no physical restrictions which would prohibit my participation in any-and-all activities offered by Roots Outdoor NC, including fishing, boating, boarding or disembarking the vessel, or consuming food or beverage prepared by the outfitter or their representatives. I certify that I have sufficient health, accident, and liability insurance to cover any bodily injury or property damage I may incur while participating in this event and to cover bodily injury or property damage caused to a third party as a result of my participation in this event. If I have no insurance, I certify that I am capable of personally paying for any and all such expenses or liabilities. Should emergency medical services become necessary to me or any minor I have authorized to participate in, I agree that I will not hold Roots Outdoor NC liable regarding the provision of medical and/or emergency care or the adequacy of any such care. All Water Guides reserves the right to decline service to any person it judges incapable of meeting the requirements of participating in fishing-related activities.
RELEASE & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK: I understand and acknowledge that the activity I am about to voluntarily engage in as a participant bears certain known and unanticipated risks as described in this document. I expressly agree, and promise to accept and assume all responsibilities for all risks while I engage in this event, and agree that I will have no right to make claim or file a lawsuit against Roots Outdoor NC, or its officers, contractors, agents, or employees. By booking my guide trip and checking out on www.rootsoutdoornc.com I also agree that myself, or as parent or guardian of any accompanying minor, unconditionally release and hold harmless Roots Outdoor NC and/or their representatives against and for all liability, cost, expenses, claims and damages for which the guide might otherwise become liable by reason of any accident, illness or injuries to, or death of, any persons, or damage to property or both, in any manner arising or resulting from, caused by, connected with or related to the participation in any activity or service offered by Roots Outdoor NC, regardless of how, where, or when such injury, illness, death or damage occurs even if caused by the negligence of the guide, its agent, contractor, or employees, or due to conditions, defects in the vessel, equipment or activities.
I agree and acknowledge that I have read and fully understand the contents of this entire document, understand that it affects my legal rights, and agree to be bound by its terms. I, the client, understand all its terms and that it shall be effective and binding upon myself, my respective heirs, successors, and assigns. I execute it voluntarily with full knowledge of its significance. I understand that this document becomes legally binding upon the finalization of my purchase and or booked guide trip through www.rootsoutdoornc.com.
