About US
Roots Outdoor NC is a veteran/family owned business. Nick and Amy Martin began this adventure in 2018 with a mission to share their love for the outdoors with their community, family and friends. Roots Outdoor has been a dream since the founder Nick fell in love with snowboarding in the mid 90's. After spending 8 years in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, that love and passion for the outdoors grew stronger. As Roots has grown and evolved, the mission has always stayed the same. Roots Outdoors goal and our collective passion is to give the people of our community and around the country a place to get quality clothing and gear while maintaining the small town mom and pop feel. We are here for the community first. Our brands are a reflection of the wants and needs of our customers and we aim to tailor our inventory every year to better satisfy their needs and to make sure they aren't stuck outside with ineffective or frustrating equipment. (Trust us we have been there). From the beginning, We have stocked the shelves in Statesville, NC with quality, well made products from brands that have a history of going above and beyond to satisfy the end consumer.  Brands like Patagonia, Burton, Orvis, The North Face, On Running, 686, Volcom, Topo Designs, Howler Brothers, Kuhl, and Smith Optics just to name a few. But what good are brands like these if you don't put them to the test. Being only and hour from the NC mountains, we also wanted to provide services that allowed locals to explore snowy mountains, fresh water lakes and streams, and rugged trails with a little more convenience. We provides equipment rentals and full guide services for those that are just wanting to dip their toe in the water or boots in the snow to see if they like it. Ski and snowboard rentals are available during the winter months and Fly Fishing guides are offered year round. Come visit us at Roots Outdoor NC in historic downtown Statesville!

RONC CARES. They are rocking as a business with the latest and greatest brands. I shop at Roots for gear and apparel and love the personal attention they provide...but they do so much more. They develop wonderful partnerships and their dedication to our schools, families, and community is evident in all aspects of their service, a service that reaches far beyond their store front.
Roots Outdoor is more than just a retail store - it's a part of the community. My community.
- It's the people. I've know the "Roots Family" for several years and my relationship with the extended family goes all the way back to my childhood. That's the beauty of growing up and living in a small town.
- It's giving back. Roots is always looking for ways to contribute and give back to it's community.
Roots carries the brands and styles that I love and I always look forward to going in and seeing what's new for each season. I'd much rather support local than a large chain retail store.
- That what Roots means to me.
Super quick online service and shipping. I placed an for an item that was out of stock at almost all online retailers at 8am one morning and it was out for delivery within 24 hours. I don't live far away, but Roots processed my order with lightning speed and had it out the door in just a few hours. Their online checkout process with ShopPay was so easy on my mobile device. Very thankful we will be able to make our son's Christmas.
I ordered online, being from PA. Was looking for a specific snowboard that ONLY they had in the right size. Couldn’t be happier. Shipping was prompt, prices were cheap and also got a 10% off online which was clutch. Can’t wait to get this board out to the slopes. Thanks guys!
